Matt's life changed in the blink of an eye
A freak accident at a family event turned Matt’s world, and his family’s, upside down
Imagine the terror of lying face-down in a pond, unable to move your arms or legs. Through the water, you hear a friend yell “he’s not joking” and friends and family sprint toward you.
Father-of-two Matt’s world was shattered in an instant during what should have been a carefree day at a friend’s farm. Enjoying in what appeared to be harmless fun, his life took a horrible turn. In the blink of an eye, he found himself paralyzed, his future uncertain.
Now, you have the opportunity to be a beacon of hope for others like Matt. Your support is urgently needed to ensure that vital rescue equipment, like the lightweight Rescue Stretchers that played a crucial role in Matt’s rescue, remains available to those who need it.
Thankfully, after years of rehab and powered by his own determination and the love of a beautiful family, Matt has defied the odds and today can walk with limited mobility and even go on simple bushwalks to enjoy nature with his family.
The Westpac Chopper is operated by expert crew, and supported by life-saving equipment. Unfortunately, we’ve been hit with unforeseen aircraft maintenance costs that makes it difficult to fund the replacement stretchers that will reach the end of their service life on June 30. Today, we urgently need your support.
Join us in ensuring that the Westpac Chopper continues to be a lifeline for Kiwi’s like Matt. Your contribution can make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Will you please support today?
