Westpac and Life Flight have worked together since 1981. Over the past four decades there have been dramatic rescues, technological advancements, and countless lives saved. Life Flight is grateful for the ongoing support of Westpac, who are the naming rights sponsor of the Rescue Helicopter. -
Not-for-profit Kiwi health insurer Accuro is the principal Air Ambulance supporter for the Life Flight Trust. “We share the same philosophies, we are both not-for-profits and we are both dedicated to supporting the health of Kiwis in tough times,” says Lance Walker, CEO of Accuro Health Insurance. “We are also providing health insurance cover for their air ambulance staff, so if they do need medical care themselves, they can receive it as soon as possible and get back to their critical life-saving work.” -
"We have been the Ford Dealer for the Wairarapa region since 1931 and in recent years added the Mazda Franchise along with Suzuki & Kawasaki motorcycles. We also operate a heavy truck servicing facility on a separate site. We are a bunch of passionate car & motorcycle enthusiasts who love what we do. We chose to support Life Flight on behalf of our entire community. It’s not a case of should we support them but MUST support them. We have a very good Hospital here in Masterton but, like other rural areas, it only provides medical care up to a certain level. Serious accidents in remote rural areas and health issues that require urgent specialist attention are all located at Wellington Hospital, and that’s when Life Flight steps in and makes it happen and happen fast. Using a combination of the Westpac Chopper we all know but also the fixed-wing aircraft depending on the situation. The amount of lives they have saved in our region alone over the years just blows us away, and we are proud sponsors of this fantastic charity."

Life Flight and Interislander’s relationship began the day of the Wahine maritime disaster. When the Union Steam Ship vessel Wahine ran aground at the entrance to Wellington Harbour, Life Flight’s founder, Peter Button was among the crowd watching as the Interislander ferry, Aramoana, came to the aid of the distressed. -
